Royal Academy Summer Exhibition
In 2014 stitch artist, Julie Heaton, contacted the SL-J Ltd Workshop to ask if she could come in and draw a 2 litre Bristol engine. Whilst certainly an unusual request, we were of course delighted to welcome her and provide a suitable subject. Some time later she produced a most magnificent and colourful rendition in embroidered fabric.
Earlier this year she submitted this work to the panel selecting art to display at the 250th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Very excitingly her work entitled “The 2 Litre Bristol Engine” was short listed in March, selected in May and now hangs proudly in the Exhibition.
You can see the Exhibition at Burlington House, London between 12th June to 19 August. https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/summer-exhibition
Limited edition art paper copies of the work were made available to the Club and a few copies remain available through her website https://julieheaton.com/
